What we like about it

We spent a significant amount of time researching backpacks for our 72-hour kits, or bug out bags, as they're often called. We wanted a pack big enough to accommodate everything we'd need for a variety of survival scenarios over a three-day period of time.

This tactical backpack:

  • Is waterproof.

  • Is big on internal storage with lots of pockets, pouches, and zippers.

  • Has side compression straps to keep our gear secure.

This backpack was the perfect find. It's well-built, sturdy, has ample storage space, and fits everything we had on our bug out bag list. This includes spare clothing, food, water, a small cooking stove and mug/pot, maps, toiletries, first aid kits, etc. The MOLLE straps also helped us personalize each bag for our individual needs.

How this tactical backpack impacts our prepping efforts

A bug out bag, or 72-hour kit is an essential part of emergency preparation. It provides the assurance that you can grab one bag at a moment's notice and have a better chance of surviving for 72-hours regardless of what's going on around you. With this one bag, we could grab and go under threat of wildfire, natural disaster, or community disturbance.

This backpack:

  • Is strategically stored so we could grab it and leave our home in minutes.

  • Contains everything we'd need in almost any emergency situation.

  • Can comfortably sustain us for a minimum of 72-hours if we had to suddenly flee our home.
